Bush's "Failed Mid-East Policy?" - Look Again
To the Loopy Left, to include Michael Moore, G.I Jane Fonda, Teddy Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Bill Mahrer, "Stewart Smiley" and the rest: What has suddenly happened to your smugness? It would seem that President Bush was right all along, and a new movement is sweeping the Middle East - just as it did in the last century throughout Europe. You laughed at Reagan too, and now history seems to be repeating itself - whilst you and others of your weak-hearted ilk have egg running down their arrogant, perpetually angry faces.
"The basis of a democratic state is liberty." A quote from George W. Bush? Not exactly - this comes from the tutor of Alexander the Great, Aristotle (384-322 BC).
Let's do a quick tally, shall we? As of two years ago, according to Freedom House's latest count, the world held 121 electoral democracies - up from 66 in 1987. Guess what folks? We just added two more and there are others just around the bend.
One need only look to the mostly liberal media that obviously can't ignore this kind of news; Red-Cedar-on-White flags waving in the sun, or the proud ink-stained fingers wagging in the face of danger.
Yes, the idea of democracy is taking hold in the Middle East and it is raging like a wild fire from as far to the East as Afghanistan to the North African shores. Like teetering dominoes along the way, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Egypt and even Libya are in varying states of historic flux - all for the betterment of their citizens.
It is no accident - self rule is a natural human condition, whereas oppression and tyranny are anything but. In this age of satellite television, cellular phones and the internet, peoples of the world are on the doorstep of knowledge, self empowerment and awareness of what their lives could be.
And all it took as a catalyst was one strong-willed President, the courage of (a majority of) the nation he leads and her truest allies. We are witnessing history in these days, my friends - make no mistake about that.
